My new daily driver keyboard

After trying different keyboards, it seems that I’ve finally found my new daily driver. You probably remember the adventure with the Keychron C1 Pro keyboard. As it turned out, the strange typing feeling was related to the mounting style used in this keyboard. Let’s dig into it and I will tell you about my new daily driver.

There are different popular keyboard mounting styles. Each of the styles affects the typing experience. Some mounting styles make a keyboard responsive and even stiff. The other styles make a keyboard soft and damp. If you want to learn more about it, there is an amazing article with a nice cheat sheet about mounting style written by Thomas Baart.

Since I didn’t really like the feeling of stiffness, I decided to try something softer, like Gasket mount.

My choice felt on the AULA F87 Pro with Graywood V4 switches. And it feels very nice. It is responsive, but at the same time, you don’t feel the stiffness on each keystroke. The keyboard is well designed and has very pleasant keycaps. And even though it is made of plastic, it's pretty heavy.

So, I’m very happy with it. And it feels like my new daily driver. Highly recommended!
